City Guide: Miami

Soho Beach House

I freakin love Miami. Give me the 90% humidity- I don’t care! Your skin constantly feels soft, dewy, and like you just had a facial. Relaxing in the ocean feels like your taking a dip in a warm bath. And don’t even get me started on the delicious Cuban food available everywhere! You know what’s a trend in Miami that I’m a big fan of? Eating. I’m not talking gluten-free, sugar-free, fat-free, dairy-free, taste-free. Miami is the real deal ladies. I’m talking about sitting with the girls at a make-shift table on the street outside a Cuban cafe, eating guava pastries, empanadas, and sipping on cafe con leche while listening to the local gossip.

Pubbelly

Eat:

Barceloneta or Pub Belly are both delish dinner spots! Expect small plates perfect for sharing. Both restaurants have a simple, but sexy vibe. Haven Gastro-Lounge is a FUN sushi lounge that has a great DJ playing nightly. It has super sexy vibes with cool black and white Vogue-esque pictures rotating on the lounge walls.

Brunch at the Local House

The Local House is a delicious and beautiful brunch spot. Sip on bottomless mimosas in their outdoor lounge seating while enjoying a crab cake benedict and ocean breeze. Las Olas Cafe or David’s Cafe are good choices for authentic Cuban food experiences. I prefer Las Olas, however David’s is open 24-hours so is perfect for midnight munchies. At Las Olas get the Cafe con Leche (if you’re a sweet latte fan) and any of the fresh empanadas.

Hyde Beach

Play:
If your looking for the ultimate club experience go to Story or LIV. Hyde Beach at SLS Hotel has a great daytime pool party scene. Set in a beautiful hotel, you can lounge poolside in gorgeous cabanas surrounded by gorgeous people. If you’re looking for a more low-key (but equally awesome) bar, we highly recommend the Broken Shaker. It’s off the beaten path, has cute outdoor setting with a pool, ping pong tables and games, excellent waitstaff and amazing cocktails.

In between cocktails and cuban sandwiches don’t forget to spend your days relaxing at Miami’s great beaches. Our favorite is Lummus Park on South Beach. It’s conveniently located to major hotels and is the perfect stretch of white sand.

Room with a view at the W Hotel

Stay:

The W South Beach or Soho Beach House are our two favorites. The W is so chic!! One of my favorite hotels in the world. The modern decor, friendly staff, chill pool scene, and rooms with breathtaking views perfectly symbolize and encapsulate all that is “Miami” in my eyes. Soho Beach House is an exclusive members only club, but non-members can stay there and enjoy the prestine spa, gorgeous outdoor restaurant, and impecccable service.

I love Miami. The food, the culture, the parties, the beaches, the eye candy….what’s not to love?!

Until next time Miami.
