City Guide: Palm Springs
Dreaming about Palm Springs evokes thoughts of days spent sipping cocktails by the pool, followed by warm summer nights dining al fresco. Of course there’s always time for a little Mad Men-esque mischief in the desert too.
Stay: At The Parker. The lobby is trendy and funky. The rooms are clean and minimalist. The grounds are beautiful, with winding paths that lead to secluded love seats. Once you enter this resort, you never have to leave. The restaurants, bar, spa, tennis courts, and pools on-site are enough to keep you pleasantly occupied your whole trip in Palm Springs. They even have a cute sitting area and fire pit where you can sip champagne under the stars while roasting marshmallows for s’mores.
Eat: My top three Palm Spring restaurants are Trio, Spencers, and The Tropicale. Trio has a delish $19 3-course pre-fixe menu. While Spencers and The Tropicale have fabulous patio dining and lovely cocktails.
Play: I’m all for lounging pool side and sipping cocktails all day, but if you’re looking for something a little different then I strongly recommend the Palm Springs Aerial Tram. It’s amazing how you get whisked up to the top of the mountain in a gondola, while enjoying views of the whole desert. Once up top, grab a drink at the bar and enjoy it outside while enjoying the views. (Oh and it’s literally 30 degrees cooler up there!)
