City Guide: Santa Barbara, California
A funky urban wine trail, yummy restaurants, bike rides, the ocean, cupcakes and champagne tasting- what more could you want from a girlfriend getaway? Recently we spent some time in Santa Barbara, California sipping and tasting our way through this quaint beach-side town.
Play: We stayed at an awesome Airbnb home that had 4 bikes we could explore the town on. I highly recommend renting bikes and cruising down State Street for great shopping and food. Better yet, ride your bikes down to the harbor where you can rent stand-up paddle boards from Santa Barbara Sailing Center and enjoy a few calm hours out on the ocean.
Eat: While we loved restaurants like Arigato and State & Fig. the main culinary highlight of our trip was wine tasting! Spend an afternoon walking around the “Urban Wine Trail” and make sure to stop in to our favorite winery: Les Marchands! If you happen to be in town on a Sunday, enjoy a champagne and cupcakes tasting flight at Corks and Crowns. Sitting on the porch, soaking in the sun while devouring an almond joy cupcake with a glass of prosecco was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend.
Stay: I’m obsessed with Airbnb these days because me and the girls like to make our own breakfast some days, and we feel like we have more space to stretch out and make ourselves at home (i.e. we have more space for all our suitcases and clothes ;). But if you choose to go the hotel route, I’m in love with the Canary Hotel because of it’s perfect location, charming decor, and knowledgeable staff.
Until next time Santa Barbara!
