City Guide: Vegas with the Girls

Just one word: Vegas. It encompasses so much! And you can have so many different types of trips in Vegas. I’ve been with my parents, I know people who’ve gone there to get married or celebrate impending marriages, but I think this weekend was my favorite type of Vegas weekend…Vegas for no reason at all! Here’s where we stayed, ate, and played during our girls weekend!

Stay: Vdara
The Vegas version of a boutique hotel, Vdara is non-smoking and non-gaming. It’s the perfect place for an extended stay or a slightly larger group because each room is a suite and has kitchenette, with fridge and stove top, which are great for storing snacks. Gotta keep your energy up to enjoy Vegas!
Vdara is a bit smaller than other major resorts, but didn’t lack in amenities. The pool was large with tons of seating, incredibly attentive staff and a fun DJ. It was a good respite from the perpetual party scene. They’re renovating a few things right now, including adding a Starbucks!!! I may or may not already be planning my next trip around that opening….

Cheers to an awesome weekend!

Eat: Jaleo at The Cosmopolitan
Saturday night we treated ourselves to a fantastic meal in one of the Cosmo’s seven restaurants. A fellow pool-goer said we had to check out Jaleo and it was one of the best decisions we made that weekend! The extensive menu is full of small plates perfect for sharing. The clear favorite at our table was the the basket of deep fried, bacon-wrapped dates…my mouth is watering just thinking about them, we got a second order! But everything, from the warm brussel sprout salad, to the seared scallops and pan with sundried tomato spread was DELICIOUS. Oh, we clearly enjoyed the sangria too!

Play: XS at Wynn
When we weren’t lounging poolside, eating fantastic food, and having dance parties in our suite, we were dancing the night away at XS! We loved the vibe, the dance floor (dancing on things that were not the dance floor…) and the outdoor area with the pool. Getting a change of scenery and a breath of fresh air is the perfect way to re-energize for more…dancing! We also were really excited that Avicii was the DJ on Saturday night!

Ready for a night out in Vegas!

So…who’s ready for another weekend in Sin City??

Great post. Vegas is really one of the best tourist destinations in the USA… Las Vegas has a lot to offer when it comes to entertainment. I find most people associate Las Vegas with casinos too much nowadays. Vegas has some of the best nightlife nightclubs in the city and they will only get better!

  2. Vegas is a good place for parties! If you haven’t heard, Hakkasan Las Vegas is opening. It is the biggest nightclub at the MGM Grand & Resort. Hakkasan also has a fine dining restaurant. Check it out!
