Uncorked in Laguna Beach

Wednesday, March 20th, 2013 | Company News

A perk to living in Southern California (outside of the beautiful scenery and amazing weather) is the love of all things vino. A few weekends ago, Stiletto Escape had the opportunity to attend Laguna Beach Uncorked, an annual event benefiting Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

Held at the Pageant of the Masters, Laguna Beach Uncorked draws a few hundred attendees with samplings of wine from around the world paired with excellent local fare.

Tacos!

Yummy tacos and short ribs

Upon arriving at the event, one of our first bites was a yummy blackened fish taco topped with Jicama slaw; the perfect way to kick off our tasting adventure! The fish was fresh and were a perfect compliment to the tanginess of the veggies and sauce. Other highlights included lobster mac & cheese and a unique avocado gazpacho with lychee foam.

While it was nearly impossible to pick just one favorite item (and absolutely not possible to pick a favorite wine!) the dessert bar, courtesy of The Montage, was spectacular. We couldn’t get enough of citrusy macaroons, home made marshmallows, and fudge cookies. I heard their tortilla soup was fantastic as well, but I didn’t even make it to that side of the table. Glass of port in hand, I savored the sugar extravaganza!
