What’s Hot this Weekend: Easter
Can’t make it home for the holiday weekend? Grab a couple of girlfriends (friends are the family you choose, right?), make your way to a brunch spot where the food is plentiful and the drinks are flowing. Here are some of Stiletto Escape’s suggestions on how to make Easter Sunday a Funday.
Where to Eat:
Over Easy Cafe in Phoenix is a cute 50′s style diner where almost every item on the menu is made from scratch. The dish to order is the Waffle Dogs: sausages in waffle batter that are fried golden brown. Sip Strawberry Lemonade with rosemary for a sweet finish.
Tasty N Sons, in Portland, serves international dishes with a traditional American twist. I cannot wait to try the Moroccan chicken hash with onion sour cream and over easy egg or the Burmese red pork stew with short grain rice and eggs. Add adult beverages like the Almosa (bubbles, orange, and aperol) or the Dim Summore (monopolowa, vodka, tomato, hoisin, lime, srirachi, and ginger) and take a culinary tour of the world without leaving the States.
Gigi in Miami offers an Asian inspired menu with an open and casual atmosphere. With a wide array of interesting drink options and good eats, like house-smoked bacon and egg udon noodle bowl, with aged cheddar, Gigi is a great place for casual Sunday conversation with the girls.
What to Wear:
If the temps are still cool where you are, keep your Easter outfit a little wintry with black & white, but give Spring a shout out with a bright bag or pumps.
Traditional Easter brunch doesn’t have to mean Laura Ashley dresses and patent kitten heels. Bring some color to breakfast by infusing the neon trend into your weekend wardrobe.
Happy Easter weekend!
