What’s Hot This Weekend: Halloween

Friday, October 25th, 2013 | What's Hot this Weekend

Home of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692, Salem, MA has become one of the biggest hot spots to celebrate Halloween. Festivities include costume contests, trick-or-treating, fairs, psychic readings, and haunted houses. I had the pleasure of spending last Halloween in MA, and the weekend was anything but disappointing. Here are some of my recos to making your weekend a memorable one!

Haunted Tours:

Terror at The Village is a one of a kind terrifying experience. Walk through a dark forest filled with images from your worst nightmares. There is nothing like this anywhere else. It is sure to give you a good scare.

Board the Salem Trolley for a thrilling ride as a guide takes you on a journey through the darkest streets of Salem. Hear stories of witches, ghosts, murder as you make your way through town.

Fall Foliage:

Take in the beautiful fall foliage on a 2-hour cruise aboard the Hannah Glover. In addition to checking out the changing color of the leaves, the tour includes 5 historic lighthouses. The boat also has a full bar & grill. More info can be found here.

History Lessons:

Participate in a Salem witch trial as a Puritan juror in the case of Bridget Bishop. Hear historical testimonies, cross-examinations of witnesses, and decide the actual verdict. The show is 45 minutes and tickets and more info can be found here.

If engaging in a trial sounds too intense, visit Cinema Salem and watch The True 1692 in 3D. The film tells the true story of the Salem Witchcraft Hysteria of 1692.

Happy Halloween Weekend!
