What’s Hot this Weekend: Labor Day
Summer may be coming to an end, but all that really means is it is time to go out with a bang. Take advantage of the long weekend by taking a mini trip before the weather begins to cool. Need inspiration on where to spend your three day weekend? Look no further than below. We have everything you need to ensure your holiday weekend is amazing.
Before the air becomes crisp and cool with the arrival of fall, a weekend getaway to a water destination is always a great pick for Labor Day. Here are a few worth checking out
Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri is a must this holiday weekend. Besides the expected activities like boating and swimming, the surrounding area has many lake front restaurants, so you get great food and view. My pick, Bandana’s Bar-B-Q. Enjoy slow cooked and smoked meats with all the fixings. The surrounding state park is also worth visiting.
The Jersey Shore has been making a comeback, making it a great destination choice this weekend. You can lay out by day and dance by night. Also NYC is an hour away, making it a great day trip option. So come tanned, with bikini in hand, and ready to party.
Want to stay dry this weekend? Then here are some destinations with plenty to do on land.
Chicago’s 31st Jazz Festival is one of many great reasons to spend Labor day in the Windy City. What else is there to do you ask? Well you can attend a pre-season football game, watch fire works at Navy Pier and eat of course. Here is a taste of what Chicago eateries have to offer from our very own Escape Artist, Jana.
Washington D.C. is a great option for a low key getaway. There will be a free concert by the National Symphony Orchestra and a free Blues Festival. Plus, the bustling city provides a bevy of great restaurants and cool boutiques; shopping + a history lesson, sounds like a perfect mix to us! (#NerdAlert, the Smithsonian is AMAZING!). D.C. has so much to offer this weekend, and much of it is FREE, which means more money for shopping and eating. Love!
Here is to an amazing weekend!
