What’s Hot this Weekend: Relax and Recharge
I don’t know about you, but I am feeling a bit exhausted. The holidays have come and gone, work and school are back in full swing, and that can leave you feeling a bit drained. I say counter the fatigue and take advantage of this three day weekend to relax and recharge, all while catching up with some girlfriends.
Host A Cozy Night In:
Gather up you girlfriends and host a movie night! All you need to throw an amazing party is below.
Pick up a couple of chick flicks.
Some of my faves are Clueless, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Sixteen Candles. Lay out extra pillows and blankets so movie viewing is extra comfy and cozy.
Ask every guest to bring a bottle of champagne.
As hostess you need to:
- Buy enough champagne flutes for everyone at the party. Ikea has great budget-friendly ones that also look pretty. But for a little bit more, I’d invest in my new personal favorites from Crate & Barrel (I love the modern shape!).
-On the day of the party fill several ice buckets with ice so you can display several bottles of champagne.
Ask every guest to bring a plate of cookies (or a dozen goodies of some sort).
As the host, set up different level risers and pedestals to create space for all the cookies on your tabletop. Don’t have party ready risers? Take shoe boxes, paint cans or other sturdy tins of varying shapes and hide them under tablecloths.
Don’t know what kind of cookies to make for the party? Check out these yummy recipes compiled by Laurie at Tip Junkie. Some of my favorite cookie recipes are red velvet sandwich cookies, chocolate crinkle cookies, and semi-homemade caramel apple cookies.
Ask your guests to also bring a copy of the recipe card for their baked item for each person. Then each guest can leave with a few new recipes up their sleeve!
Bubbly, movies, and sweets. What more could a girl ask for?
Enjoy your weekend ladies!
