Friday, March 22nd, 2013 | What's Hot this Weekend

Spring Break!! Whether you’re ready to shake off the stress of mid-terms or bust your winter blues, Stiletto Escape has your best bets for a seasonal getaway!

Balcony view of pool and Sea of Cortez

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico: It exists for the purpose of college Spring Break, no? Cabo provides beaches, booze, and dancing galore. This is the perfect place to let loose at night while enjoying the gorgeous beaches and resort pools by day. Recently visited by a Stiletto Escape staffer for a Bachelorette party, she can attest to the hottest night clubs and warmest beaches. You cannot go to Cabo without a visit to El Squid Roe. If laying out sounds more enticing, the Sea of Cortez in San Jose Del Cabo is a great option for swimming.

Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom

Washington D.C.: If you’re looking for a low-key escape from your daily routine, and maybe a bit of culture, the nation’s capitol is a great choice. From 3/20- 4/14, D.C. hosts a variety of events to celebrate the 1912 gift of 3000 cherry trees from the then Mayor of Tokyo. Plus, the bustling city provides a bevy of great restaurants and cool boutiques; shopping + a history lesson, sounds like a perfect mix to us! (#NerdAlert, the Smithsonian is AMAZING!). If the traditional Spring Break trip sounds exhausting, relax and take in some natural beauty this Spring. The expected peak of the cherry blossoms is between April 3rd and 6th.

San Diego: Beaches. Beautiful weather. Great food. Beautiful spas. (And strong drinks.) Let’s be honest, you can have it all in San Diego! If you’re looking for the ultimate pool party, head to Intervention at the Hard Rock. Grab happy hour cocktails at Prado in the beautiful Balboa Park. Eat fish tacos and enjoy the breathtaking views from George’s in La Jolla. And no trip is complete to San Diego without a trip to the beach.

Strolling through San Juan

Strolling through San Juan

Puerto Rico: For a quicker getaway, you can do San Juan in a day or two. The real gems of Puerto Rico lie to the east and west. Go east and visit the islands: Culebra and Vieques. Go west and enjoy the relaxed town of Rincon.
